Most schools ask kids to sit still, memorize textbooks, and bubble in test answers. We ask them to make movies. At PMP Film Academy, we operate a 5-day-a-week, fully immersive micro-school that treats education like a working film studio. We teach Math, Science, History, and Language Arts by giving your child a role on a film crew.

Here is what makes our academy completely different from anything your child has experienced before:

🚫 No Standardized Tests. No Busywork.

We don’t believe a multiple-choice test proves how smart your child is. Instead of stressful exams, students build digital portfolios. They are graded on real-world skills: Leadership, Technical Ability, Creativity, and Task Completion. Your child will show you what they’ve learned by inviting you to a red-carpet movie premiere, not by handing you a report card.

🧠 A Place for Every Kind of Mind

Because we are an independent micro-school, we don’t use bureaucratic red tape, limiting labels, or standardized special-ed tracks. We just look at the child in front of us and find where they shine.

High Energy/ADHD? They won't be punished for fidgeting; they’ll be handed a Steadicam or boom pole where constant movement is a superpower.
Struggle with Reading/Dyslexia? They will thrive as visual storytellers, set designers, or cinematographers.
Need Extra Academic Help? Every single day includes our "WIN" (What I Need) block—a stigma-free, dedicated hour where kids get 1-on-1 coaching to catch up on math or reading while it feels like they are just prepping for their next movie scene.

🎥 We Treat Them Like Professionals

Our students attend Monday through Friday for a full academic day. High schoolers and middle schoolers have a daily 3-hour "Film Block." But because we know creative work is exhausting, we enforce a strict 1-Hour Rest Mandate. Right in the middle of production, everything shuts down for a full hour so kids can eat, rest their brains, and recharge. We teach them that self-care is a vital professional skill.

🛡️ Uncompromising, Rock-Solid Safety

As parents, your biggest question is: Is my child safe around all this equipment and action? The answer is an absolute yes.

Adult Supervision: Every single piece of equipment handling, rigging, and physical movement is directly supervised by our trained instructors.
100% Zero-Weapon Policy: We have a strict ban on all firearms—including toy props, nerf guns, or even cardboard cutouts. If a movie scene needs tension, our kids learn to create it using lighting and sound, never weapons.
The "Cut!" Rule (Emotional Safety): Filmmaking can be intense. Every student in our academy has the absolute right to yell "Cut!" at any moment if they feel overwhelmed, anxious, or need a sensory break. All action stops immediately, with zero questions asked.

Because our students are highly engaged and genuinely excited to come to school, they learn faster. Our curriculum is designed so that every student works one full grade level ahead of their age group.

Post Makes Perfect™ and PMP Film Academy were founded by Hollie P. Dawson, an educator and creative instructor with a deep passion for storytelling and youth development.

After working with students in hands-on filmmaking settings, Hollie began to notice a pattern—many children weren’t struggling because they lacked ability, but because traditional classrooms weren’t meeting the way they learn best.

That realization led her to create PMP Film Academy, a school designed to combine strong academic structure with meaningful, creative application.

Hollie personally designs and leads each experience with a focus on:
• Clear structure and guidance
• Building confidence in every student
• Creating a safe, encouraging environment
• Helping students find their voice

Her goal is simple:

To create a place where students feel capable, engaged, and excited to learn.

Post Makes Perfect™ was created to give students a safe, encouraging space to tell their stories through film.

What started as a filmmaking program quickly revealed something deeper—many students don’t just need creative opportunities… they need a different kind of learning environment altogether.

That realization led to the creation of PMP Film Academy, a new school opening for the 2026–2027 year.

At PMP Film Academy, students don’t spend their days sitting through passive lessons.

Instead, they experience a structured approach to core academics—combined with hands-on film production that allows them to apply what they learn in meaningful, engaging ways.

We believe students learn best when they are:
• Actively involved
• Creatively engaged
• Supported in small group settings
• Given the opportunity to build confidence through real experiences

Classes are intentionally kept small so every student is seen, supported, and challenged at their level.

No prior experience is needed—just curiosity, creativity, and a willingness to try something new.
